Dr Johannes Walzebuck has worked as a petroleum geologist, executive and managing director on many international assignments at ExxonMobil and Shell, in North and South America, Europe, Africa, the Caspian and in Asia. He studied Geology, Mineralogy and Business Administration in Germany and Switzerland and holds a PhD in Natural Sciences from the University of Tuebingen, Germany. He has experience in resource exploration and project development, gas marketing, commercial contracting and governance. Throughout his career he has served on the Board of several oil, gas and pipeline companies in USA, Brazil, Bolivia, and Germany and was a Member of The North American Energy Standards Board. He is a member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators. He has been a speaker at the World Petroleum Conference and has authored publications in journals on Petroleum Geology as well as Natural Sciences.
After more than 34 years of service in the Oil and Gas Industry he retired in 2016 in order to dedicate his time to research and science education. Dr Walzebuck has taught at the Universities of Bonn, Frankfurt and Berne and since 2016 is an Honorary Lecturer at CEPMLP.
