Biography

Armando Zamora is an Honorary Lecturer at the Centre. He holds an advanced Nuclear Engineer degree (Dr. Ing.) and a MSc from MIT (Cambridge, USA), where he specialised in financial risk analysis and in energy economics and policy. He also holds an MBA from IMD (Lausanne) and a BSc in engineering from Los Andes University (Bogota).

Previous to joining the CEPMLP, Mr. Zamora was a senior management consultant with The Boston Consulting Group in London and Madrid, and held senior positions in the energy and natural resources industries (oil and gas, coal, uranium), investment promotion and the insurance sector.

Mr. Zamora has a wide experience in energy and minerals investment and promotion.

Research

His research interests are international business management, financial and risk analysis, energy regulation and negotiation of joint ventures and contracts on natural resources.

Teaches On-Campus Modules for:

Energy and Mining Finance (CP52015)

The primary aim of the course is to provide a detailed consideration of the theory of finance as it applies to the energy and mining industries and to consider how the theory is applied in practice. The two key focus areas will be investment decision making with uncertainty and how the investment demands are financed.

Teaches Distance Learning Modules for:

Investment Decision Making in the Energy and Mining Industries (CP50008)
