Beyond Graduation – Your Next Steps The Careers Service will be running a series of events to support our upcoming graduating students and alumni. The week will also include access to a graduate toolkit and support to prepare for a Graduate Jobs Fair Online taking place Wednesday 2 June (11am – 4pm). You will be able to pick and mix from a series of live interactive forums and online resources focussing on:

1)  Exploring careers – what can I do?
2)  Finding jobs in Covid Times 
3)  Marketing yourself to employer

Introduction to Painting Conservation at Hospitalfield Hospitalfield invite you to join an online talk and film screening introducing the care of the collection of predominately 19th century paintings at Hospitalfield, an arts trust and historic house in Arbroath, presented with Henry Matthews and Gail Egan of Dundee based ICON registered Conservators Egan Matthews & Rose.  This is a rare chance to see behind the scenes a painting conservation survey. Growth Mindset:  Prospects Rebecca Fielding, founder and managing director at Gradconsult will introduce you to the concept of growth mindset in this session. Growth mindset is being increasingly used by employers to both recruit and develop graduates. Your mindset is described as 'a mental attitude that determines how you interpret and respond to situations' (Carol Dewck, 2007). By becoming more aware of, and working on, your mindset (including your self-talk and self-limiting beliefs) you can accelerate your personal development at the start of your career. You'll get practical advice on using the growth mindset to help on your career journey in this 30 minute webinar. Getting Women into STEM:  Prospects Slowly but surely the gender gap in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) industries is narrowing but more work still needs to be done to encourage women into STEM careers.  Hear from Tehreem Sheikh, CEO/co-founder of Hire STEM Women about why this gap exists, what barriers young women currently face, initiatives and campaigns to encourage more females into STEM and why increasing the female representation in these industries is so important. This is a 30 minute webinar with the opportunity to ask questions at the end.
