Peter Foden read Anglo-saxon and History at Corpus Christi College, University of Cambridge, and qualified as an Archivist at the University of Liverpool. The next twenty years working in diverse public and private archives in the UK have given him a depth of inside knowledge which he now uses as a freelance archivist, palaeographer and researcher. He has worked in local authority archive services in Shropshire and Staffordshire, in education, and in business (the Oxford University Press and Boots the Chemist). He is currently providing archive consultancy services to a stately home. Peter has taught archival research skills for many years, notably as a visiting tutor at the Keele Latin and Palaeography Summer Schools. He currently teaches Reading and Interpretation at the Department for Information Studies at UCL.
