MLitt/Dip in Archive and Records Management

To enrol for the programme applicants must:

  • be graduates with a with an Honours degree or above in an appropriate discipline or have alternative qualifications subject to the approval of the University
  • be employed or active as a volunteer in a professional archive for a minimum of 1/2 day a week and have appropriate prior experience
  • provide a CV and proof of qualifications
  • provide two references, one from a professional archivist or records manager
  • provide a personal statement of 500-750 words detailing previous experience and explaining why they want to undertake the course
  • have access to the Internet and a PC of an appropriate specification for the use of learning materials and for communication
  • attend an interview via Skype
  • UK and Irish students must attend a study school (May for students starting in January or May and September for students starting in September)

Transfer of credit from other study programmes may be possible by arrangement.

MSc/Dip in Records Management with specialisation

To enrol for the programme applicants must:

  • be graduates with a with an Honours degree or above, in an appropriate discipline or have alternative qualifications subject to the approval of the University
  • be employed or active as a volunteer in an appropriate professional environment for a minimum of 1/2 day a week and have prior experience
  • provide a statement from employers regarding work experience
  • provide a CV and proof of qualifications
  • provide two references, one from a professional archivist or records manager
  • provide a personal statement of 500-750 words detailing previous experience and explaining why they want to undertake the course
  • have access to the Internet and a PC of an appropriate specification for the use of learning materials and for communication
  • attend an interview via Skype
  • UK and Irish students must attend a study school (May for students starting in January or May and September for students starting in September)

MLitt/Dip in Family and Local History

Standard entry will be based on an Honours degree in an appropriate subject (usually upper Second Class). Alternative qualifications and/or experience, approved and validated through Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) frameworks, will also be considered. Students will be expected to have some experience of research with archival records.

Postgraduate Certificate and CPD modules

Applications for Certificate programmes and modules via CPD are welcome from all candidates although we may discuss experience and suitability upon application.
