Dr Brian Howieson represented the School of Business on a recent trip to Palestine where he visited the An-Najah National University. He was part of a delegation from the University, which was headed by Wendy Alexander, VP for Internationalisation.
The delegation from the University of Dundee were received by Dr. Maher Natsheh, Acting President of the University, Dr. Kherieh Rassas, Vice President for International Development and External Affairs Office; Dr. Mohammed Al-Amleh, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Moayad Hattab, Dean of the Faculty of Law, and Mr. Khaled Mufleh, Acting Director of Public Relations at the University.
The main purpose of the trip was to explore areas of collaboration and cooperation between the two Institutions. Focussing on opportunities to collaborate across teaching/learning and wider academic relations across a wide range of disciplines and subjects. One particular area of discussion was around potential study exchanges and opportunities for students.
This particular trip follows on from a number that the School of Business has been involved in this year, including earlier trips in 2017 to India and Colombia.
Dr Howieson said, "This was an excellent opportunity for the School of Business and of course the wider University to engage closely with colleagues in Palestine. It was an excellent trip and we discussed a number of areas that we will continue to explore for future collaboration.
"Sharing best practice, and educational expertise across countries is crucial to our long term ambitions. These partnerships can offer very positive links for teaching and research and con often have a positive benefit for our students. I look forward to progressing these talks on behalf of the School of Business and developing the relationship with my colleagues."
