Fun in Dundee Botanic Garden for Plant Power Day

The University of Dundee and the James Hutton Institute are coming together in the name of ‘Plant Power’. They will be hosting a free event on Saturday, May 21st at the University of Dundee’s Botanic Garden to highlight how fascinating plants are and how important they are to the past, present and future of humanity. There will be a range of activities taking place including hands on scientific workshops, falconry and face painting. In association with the Institute of Sport and Exercise at the University of Dundee, the Botanic Garden will be hosting the annual Fun Run on Wednesday 18th May at 7pm. Staged within the scenic setting of the Botanic Garden, the Fun Run is suitable for all the family and levels of ability; whether you are raising money for a worthwhile cause, remembering a loved one or simply keeping active. The Garden of Evolution - an exhibition by Lily Hassioti

A visual arts installation by 4th year Fine Art student, Lily Hassioti previews at the University of Dundee Botanic Garden on April 28th. ‘The Garden of Evolution’ is an interactive installation which explores the role of technology in the evolution of man, extending the human senses and re-shaping communications. Lily has used pebbles and rocks to create QR codes which, once scanned using a smartphone, will play sounds and voice messages.
