Published on Thu 3 Aug 2017 by Lisa Campbell
Peggy Edwards is a botanic and natural science illustrator and an expert when it comes to the Sequoiadendron Giganteum also known as the "Giant Redwood". On Sunday 20 August 2017 from 1.30pm - 3.30pm she has kindly decided to come to the Botanic Garden and give a talk about these amazing species of plant.
These trees were introduced to the United Kingdom during the 19th Century by a very successful man - Patrick Matthew. Peggy Edwards is currently having her own summer tour of Scotland and The University of Dundee Botanic Garden will be one of her stops.
After Peggy has given an insightful explanation about these Californian trees there will then be a tour of The University of Dundee Botanic Garden by Dr Neil Paterson; this is to allow visitors to see the gardens great range of red wood.
Entry is by ticket only and these are available from Eventbrite or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. I hope you can join us at the garden for this exciting event.
