Sharing expertise in Changsha and Zhuhai, China

Dr Keith Dinnie, Head of Management and Marketing, has returned from China where he delivered guest talks in Changsha, Hunan Province and Zhuhai, Guangdong Province
The topic of his talks was city branding, with a particular focus on the ICON model of place branding which Keith created and published in his book ‘Nation Branding – Concepts, Issues, Practice, 2nd Edition’ (Routledge, 2015).
In Changsha, Keith spoke to an audience of 100 local government officials, business people and academics. In Zhuhai, he was a guest speaker at The 3rd 21st Century Maritime Silk Road China (Guangdong) International Communication Forum. This event attracted an audience of 200 and was co-hosted by China Media Group and the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, and organised by the Information Office, People’s Government of Guangdong Province and the People’s Government of Zhuhai Municipality.
‘The cities of Changsha and Zhuhai both have bright futures ahead of them’, said Keith. ‘They are already successful, dynamic cities. The next stage of their development will be to internationalise their city brands in order to reach a global audience.’
