Transforming the Experience of Students Through Assessment (TESTA)
TESTA has run at Dundee since 2010 and has recently become a mandatory part of the Periodic Programme Review process for undergraduate programmes. The process supports universities in implementing programme-level change by engaging with the student experience of assessment and feedback. A master’s pilot of the TESTA process for postgraduate programmes is also in progress.
- represents authentic learning from practice - a student-centred process;
- gives programme ownership of process and outcome;
- is part of the Periodic Programme Review (PPR) process;
- sits within the Academic Skills Centre, working with Quality and Assurance Standards and collaborative partners across the institution.
The TESTA methodology includes focus groups, questionnaires, a feedback analysis, and an internal programme audit, in order to help programme leaders to identify examples of good practice, as well as areas for development.
