Pam has over 25 years experience of working as an HR professional. Employed as the University’s HR Director since 2002 she has a significant track record of introducing strategic and operational change within a complex and multi-disciplined academic environment. Her key areas of expertise include: organisational strategic development, employee relations and engagement, strategy/policy development and implementation. Pam’s remit includes not only the management of the HR function but also Health and Safety, Occupational Health, Equality and Diversity, Organisational and Professional Development and HR Legal Services. Pam has been with the University through a period of rapid change and growth which has included a number of mergers, including: Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Fife and Dundee Schools of Nursing and the Dundee campus of Northern College of Education.
On a professional level, she is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), and co-convened for some time the Scottish Universities Heads of Personnel group. This involved not only raising and discussing HR issues which were important to the sector but also provided, on behalf of the HR community, views and advice to other bodies such as the Scottish Funding Council, Universities Scotland and the Universities HR (UHR). She also sits on national committees including the Universities and Colleges Employers Association (UCEA) Scottish Committee and Universities Scotland Efficiencies Taskforce.
Pam is a member of the Board of Dundee and Angus College, the Board of Governors at Strathallan School in Perthshire and is a Director of Dundee University Ltd.
