Research/Studies

Professor Gooch is a specialist in water and environmental policy analysis and in the study of institutional interactions. His practical work engaging public participation and knowledge exchange globally is vital for his Policy work. He has played leading roles in many EU-funded research projects and recently completed work on transboundary water governance and environmental regimes and participation in Cambodia, Vietnam, Spain and Portugal. He is co-editor of a forthcoming book published by Earthscan Publishers on ‘Science, Policy and Stakeholder Interaction in Water Management’ (May 2010) in which he further develops his frameworks for participatory scenario development and stakeholder involvement. Professor Gooch is now the coordinator of the EU-funded ‘LiveDiverse’ research project in which eight partners study the interface of livelihoods and biodiversity in and around protected areas in Costa Rica, Vietnam, South Africa and India.
