Dr Alistair Rieu-Clarke is a Senior Lecturer in International Law and heads up the International Water Law Research Cluster at the Dundee IHP-HELP Centre. Alistair’s research interests centre around assessing the effectiveness of transboundary watercourse treaty regimes

Teaching
Courses taught
- International Law of Water Resources Postgraduate (ILWR) module delivered annually to LLM students (currently 30 contact hours/ 5-10 students per year).
Course design and preparation
- Responsible for the design and preparation of ILWR Module, including updating VLE.
- Contribute to the design of Water Law, Water Leaders Programme, a package of teaching programmes offered by the IHP-HELP Centre.
- Involved in review of postgraduate taught Masters programme, and the introduction of a new LLM specialisation in Water Governance, activities included drafting programme papers, liaising with relevant University departments and ensuring QA procedures were complied with.
Supervision
- PhD and LLM Masters students specializing in international water law issues.
Examining duties
- Written exams and research papers for students taking ILWR Module.
- Dissertations for LLM students specializing in International Law of Water Resources.
- Convene, chair and acts as examiner for LLM and PhD upgrade panels.
Internal examiner and convener for LLM and PhDs.
