Mova is currently a PhD candidate at the IHP-HELP Centre for Water Law, Policy and Science, University of Dundee. Mova’s research focuses on governance and transparency in the regulation of water utilities. He is an active member of WaterLex, an international Non-Governmental Organisation formed in 2010 to promote access to water and sanitation as a fundamental human right. Mova has advised water service and privatization laws of Indonesia, and has published extensively on water law and water contracts in Indonesia. He is also a member of the International Water Association (IWA) Task Force on Stakeholders Engagement.

Mova has undertaken research into the Future Regulation of Nanotechnology in Indonesia (with Ecotas Group Associates), funded by the Indonesian National Science Foundation (2009)
