Masters (LLM) Water Law
The LLM Water Law is one of two LLM programmes delivered by the IHP-HELP Centre for Water Law, Policy and Science at the University of Dundee. It is delivered in both full-time and part-time modes, and part-time students use a combination of on-campus and online learning. It is also possible to register for a Postgraduate Certificate or Postgraduate Diploma in Water Law. The LLM Water Law allows study of all the relevant areas of water law, as well as a wide range of options in natural resources law, policy and management.
The above image shows LLM students and other IHP-HELP Centre colleauges at a field trip to the Tay reed-beds in June 2011, as part of the introductory week to summer tuition on our LLMs and other Courses delivered through the Water Law Water Leaders summer programme.
Full-time students begin in January. Part-time students may begin at any time of year. Part-time students attend in the summer to participate in our summer school, where we deliver modules in the three core areas of water law - international water law, comparative national water law, and the regulation of water services - within a wider group of students and external participants. Students then complete a dissertation, or internship, or for part-time students a work-based learning project. Full-time students may complete these on or off campus. This programme is available to students from law or non-law backgrounds, and provides a globally-recognised and rigorous foundation in an area of increasing importance.

"With a background in corporate law I decided to take time off to invest in my education and broaden my career opportunities. Coming from Australia, I was aware of the importance of water as a national and global issue. I was looking for a highly regarded course in water law offering breadth and depth, all delivered within a manageable time frame. I got all this and more from the IHP-HELP Centre; Integrated water learning offered in a stimulating and truly global environment. A year of great learning and opportunity"
