About the Key Information Set

The Key Information Set has been created to allow prospective students to compare courses before they apply. There are various pieces of information collected from a range of sources, including independently run surveys and data provided by universities themselves.

For courses which do not have many graduates, for example joint degree combinations or new degrees, the information may be estimated, based on similar courses.

Some of the headings may not be appropriate for particular courses, for example:

• the cost of accommodation is not relevant for distance learning students,
• the number of students in professional/managerial jobs six months after graduating may not be appropriate for courses such as art & design or psychology, or where graduates frequently set up their own businesses

We recommend that you do not just use this data to compare courses, but that you also detailed information provided on the relevant course web page.
