Study Abroad for Incoming Students

The roots of the University go back to 1881 when University College, Dundee, was founded. In 2007, the University celebrated 40 years since it became independent after a 70 year relationship with the University of St Andrews.

The past decade has been a particularly exciting time of progress and change - since 1994 the University has more than doubled in size and in 2008 we completed a £200m campus redevelopment. This included:

We are now home to nearly 18,000 students, with approximately 15% coming from over 80 different countries. The University of Dundee enjoys an unrivalled position in the centre of Dundee, close to the shops, theatre and transport links, and with outstanding views over the River Tay.

The University also attracts a growing number of study abroad students; between 50 and 60 students per year choose Dundee as their study abroad destination of choice.

"Dundee has truly beautiful views that I have come to love. It’s going to be extremely difficult to leave such a beautiful place."
