FAQ - Discretional Fund Application Form


Q. I have misplaced my letter of award, what should I do?

If you are a Scottish student, a new SAAS letter of award can be requested from http://www.saas.gov.uk/anon_dup.htm. For students from the rest of the UK, a new award letter can be requested by phoning or emailing your funding body.


Q. I pay rent/board to the lease holder of my accommodation but am not on the lease myself. What evidence should I hand in with my application?

You should hand in a signed letter from the your relative/friend stating how much you pay them in rent/board.


Q. I am unsure what evidence you require for my registered childcare costs.

For registered childcare evidence we require a letter or document, which details the following:


Q. I don't have any recent bank statements, what should I do?

A printed sheet of recent transactions can be obtained from within the Dundee branch of your bank or from your online banking service.


Q. I have already applied to the Discretionary Fund in this academic year, can I re-apply?

Yes, it is possible to re-apply to the Discretionary Fund, however, we would be looking for a significant change in your financial circumstances and there are no guarantees that an award will be given. If you have already completed the application form and handed in the necessary evidence in this academic year then we only require the following for a re-application:
