The University has established an open forum for staff and students with personal experience of disability, and/or expertise in disability or other equality and diversity issues, to discuss the implications of the Disability Equality Duty and to support the ongoing monitoring and implementation of the University's Disability Equality Scheme.
A key role of the forum is to help the University to identify/review:
Most of the forum discussion is online but meetings are arranged as required. Membership is on an informal basis so members can join/leave at any time. There is no need to commit to a particular length of membership. Members do not need to share their identity with other forum members to participate online as it is possible to make anonymous contributions. Feedback from the forum is presented to the University's Equality and Diversity Working Group for consideration/ implementation, and onwards to the Human Resources Committee, Learning and Teaching Committee and University Court as appropriate.
Anyone wishing to register an interest in participating in the forum should contact Shirley Hill, Head of Disability Services, Ewing Annexe, University of Dundee, email: s.hill@dundee.ac.uk
