Disability Support Officers (DSOs)
What do Disability Support Officers do?
- Act as the first point of contact for disabled students and applicants in their School/Service, particularly to advise on course and professional requirements and teaching/assessment methods.
- Liaise with Disability Services to ensure information on disabled students' needs is communicated to all relevant staff with the student's consent, including visiting lecturers and placement providers.
- Help colleagues to meet the support needs of disabled students in their School/Service, including forwarding information from Disability Services on training opportunities and disability-related resources.
DSOs operate throughout the University. Contact details for DSOs
are available to internal users.
Prospective students and external users should contact Disability Services for further information.
