Ensuring Portable Appliances are, as far as is reasonably practical, safe to use is a mandatory requirement of current Health and Safety legislation and for compliance a suitable Inspection and Testing regime must be in place: having in place a good and diligently pursued Portable Appliance Testing, PAT, regime is the prudent and universally accepted way of complying with this legal requirement.
The University’s Procurement Office has established a Contract for the Supply of Portable Appliance Testing Services.

Please Note: Portable Appliance Testing training is available on Campus free of charge to University Staff who wish to PAT test Portable Appliances within their own Departments. For information on this please contact Bill Reynolds in Safety Services.
