Supporting Public Engagement

In this section we aim to provide details on all of the support available to researchers in developing their public engagement ideas and activities whether you're just starting out, or have extensive experience in public communication. If you already have a good idea of the kind of activity you would like to develop or be involved in contact us to discuss this further.

For beginners: If you are just starting out in public engagement you may wish to visit our training section and also investigate the list of national schemes, which can organise activities for you. Our Getting Started page will also give you some idea where to begin engaging with the public about your research.

For experienced communicators: If you have been involved in lots of public engagement activity you may be interested in our evaluation section. We also recognise and reward researchers for their achievements.

For event organisers: If you are planning your own event or activity related to your research you should visit our funding section and can also see what projects have worked well in the past in our 'Past Events' and 'Case Studies' section.

For Research Leaders:If you are submitting a grant to six of the seven Research Councils in the UK you will need to include Impact Plans and Statements. Find out more about Research Council Impact process.
