New Generation Thinkers of 2012
The AHRC and BBC Radio 3 are looking for applications for the New Generation Thinkers of 2012.
Up to sixty successful applicants will have a chance to develop their programme-making ideas with experienced BBC producers at a series of dedicated workshops and, of these up to ten will become Radio 3's resident New Generation Thinkers. They will benefit from a unique opportunity to develop their own programmes for BBC Radio 3 and a chance to regularly appear on air. The deadline for applications is midnight on Wednesday December 7th.

STEM Ambassadors Scheme comes to Dundee
The STEM ambassadors scheme in a nationwide project that provides researchers from all scientific backgrounds the chance to work with schools and the public. The scheme is free and sends you details of events that fit your areas of interest. Our local co-ordinator is Dundee Science Centre.

The Women in Science Festival runs every year in Dundee in March and we're currently planning our programme for next year. Be a part of the British Science Festival, Aberdeen 2012
The British Science Association is taking the British Science Festival to Aberdeen in 2012, its first time in Scotland for 11 years. They are now seeking proposals for events to be part of the festival. Submit before 7th November 2011. The theme for the festival is 'Energising Minds'.

Volunteer for the British Science Festival and receive training, events management experience, as well as a free trip to the British Science Festival! x-change is a relaxed informal round up of the day's talks, selected and organised by the x-change volunteers. Apply by 1st August. The festival takes place from 10-15 September in Bradford.

Nominations for the 2011 Josh Award now open
The Joshua Phillips Award (or Josh Award) is intended to recognise and nurture the finest practitioners in science communication who, whilst being professional young science communicators, have already demonstrated exceptional potential for innovation in the relatively new field of public engagement with science.The successful nominee will receive a personal prize of 1,000 pounds and be appointed as Science Communicator in residence at the Manchester Science Festival 2012.Nominations must be in by 28th August
