The University's most recently appointed professors joined forces with its award winning teachers and communicators in January 2012 to share their passion for their subject in the ninth annual Discovery Days series of 15 minute talks.
Sixteen new professors from a wide variety of disciplines took part in the annual showcase of academic talent and cutting edge research alongside two of the winners of this year's teaching awards.
The University was also delighted to announce the winners of the first Stephen Fry Award for Excellence in Public Engagement with Research.
The Centre for Anatomy and Human Identification were awarded the 2012 Stephen Fry Award for Excellence in Public Engagement with Research.
Prof. Charles McKean, from the School of Humanities was awarded an Honorary Stephen Fry Award for his life time achievements in engaging the public with his research in Scottish architectural history.
At this public event presenter had just 15 minutes to captivate, inform and entertain the audience in the University of Dundee's Dalhousie Building. The final 15 minutes of each session was the audience's chance to put their questions to the speakers and I would like to thank everyone who put forward their questions.
The programme and abstracts of the talks will be available as a pdf before April 2012. If you would like us to send you a copy please contact Jon Urch, Public Outreach Co-ordinator, University of Dundee at RevealingResearch@dundee.ac.uk Phone: 01382 386669.
