This page describes all of the annual event and initiatives that are open to researchers at all levels.

You may find this list helpful when planning your public engagement activity in Tayside and Scotland. These events are co-ordinated by others so offer a taster of what engaging with the public entails, without requiring too great a time commitment.

Dundee Doors Open Days open doors day

What? Doors Open Days aim to open up Scotland's most fascinating historical and modern buildings to the public. The events are co-ordinated by the Scotish Civic Trust.

When? In Dundee, Doors Open Days take place on one weekend a year in September.

Deadline to submit your event: 30th June 2012. Two months in advance of the event.

National Science and Engineering Week

What?A national programme of events in science, engineering, technology and maths aimed at all ages.

When? 15th - 24th March 2013

Women in Science events What?Women in Science is a series of events run at the beginning of March which celebrate the achievements of Women in Science, as well as encourage younger women to consider a career in science, technology, engineering or maths.

When? Friday 1st March - Saturday 16th March 2013

Dundee Literary Festival Dundee Literary Festival brings together some of the most talked about names from the world of literature, journalism, philosophy and politics and takes place during graduation at the end of June. Click here to go to the Dundee Literary Festival web page. What?Run by Literary Dundee, the festival is a 5 day series of events including appearances from world renowned authors, workshops, panel discussions and mini conferences on all kinds of literary topics.

When? Thursday 25th-Sunday 28th October 2012.
