Caroline joined RIS in 2008 as Research Business Development Manager for the College of Medicine, Dentistry & Nursing. She has responsibility for developing strategic and commercial research applications for the College.

Caroline previously worked as business development manager for the University of Abertay Dundee and University College London before that.

Caroline has a BSc (Hons) in Microbiology from the University of Glasgow and a PhD in Molecular Microbiology from the University of Cambridge. 

Ron has responsibility for all aspects of managing the University's intellectual property portfolio:dealing with issues of patent  protection, inventorship, ownership, copyright, design rights and trademarks. Ron is the primary contact on IP matters for the College of Life Sciences and the College of Arts Science and Engineering.

Ron has a degree in law and has specialised in intellectual proprty law and practice since 1989 working for the Post Office and BT,and prior to working at the University,as a Trademark specialist with Murgitroyds patent lawyers in Glasgow.

As Company Development Manager John provides guidance and advice to emerging University spinout ventures. He is also observer to the board on several existing spinout companies. John also manages the Dundee University Incubator facility.

Prior to joining RIS John worked in The Business Shop (laterally the Business Gateway) in Dundee where he provided business advice and mentoring to a diverse range of start up and existing businesses over a 4 year period. John started his career as a trainee accountant with Ernst and Young followed by various accountancy posts in the voluntary, public and private sectors.  

Neil Mather is responsible for helping develop the research portfolio within the College of Arts, Science and Engineering : from fundamental to applied research.
 
Neil has a BSc in Mechanical Engineering . He also has an MBA from the Dundee Business School where his dissertation topic was on the the commercial development of a university research centre. Prior to joining RIS most of Neil's career was spent in the oil and gas industry.
 
  

Fiona has a BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences from the University of Edinburgh and a PhD in Molecular Pharmacology from the University of Glasgow.

Fiona joined RIS in 2004 after post doc posts in the USA and London, culminating in an independent investigator position in the Division of Signal Transduction Therapy at the University of Dundee .

Fiona is responsible for preparing proposals for development funding and assisting with the project management of successful bids. Development projects are based on research with commercial application.Funding schemes include Scottish Enterprise's Proof of Concept Programme and the Research Councils’ Follow on Funds. Fiona also provides general research business development support to the College of Life Sciences.

Sahar provides advice and guidance on translational funding applications, commercial interactions, contractual obligations and negotiations, assists with business plans, and provides general assistance and advice with technology transfer matters.

Sahar joined RIS in 2009, having worked in the Pharmaceutical industry for seven years on target discovery and drug discovery projects.

Sahar has a BA (Hon) in Biochemistry and a MSc in Biochemistry from Trinity College Dublin, with a PhD in Molecular Genetics from University of Glasgow.

Simon is responsible for developing major cross college infrastructure proposals and bids for the Colleges of Life Sciences and College Of Medicine Dentistry and Nursing and other interdisciplinary proposals (eg Wellcome Trust Translational Awards ).

Simon has a BSc in Genetics from Glasgow University and a PhD in molecular biology of viral DNA replication from St Andrews University.
