Funding Commercialisation
A key role for RIS is to advise on and secure funding for projects with commercial potential.
RIS is experienced in securing funding to bridge the gap between 'academic research' and the development of technologies which are sufficiently developed and 'de-risked' to be of interest to a commercial partner.
Often a project requires various injections of funding to progress it to this stage.
RIS has secured over £1m for projects since 2005
Specialist funds where RIS has secured funding have included, NESTECH (a joint Challenge fund which RIS set up with the Universities of Aberdeen and St Andrews), Scottish Enterprise Proof of Concept (POC) funding, and the commercialisation funds of CRT and the Wellcome Trust.
