Visa Extensions

Introduction of CAS numbers

As of 22nd February 2010 all applicants for Visa Extensions must be issued with a CAS number (Certificate of Acceptance of Study). The CAS number holds information on an electronic system accessed by UKBA.

Before your CAS is issued, you must make an appointment with the International Advice Service, 2 Airlie Place(no. 41 on the Campus Map) where you will receive help in making you application to extend your Visa.

Your CAS number and statement will be issued by Registry following a request by the International Adviser. This will normally be processed within two working days of the request being made.

International Support

Tel: (01382) 381381 or drop in to the Enquiry Centre at 2 Airlie Place

Please see information on "Tier 4 (General) for extending your leave as a student".

This will include a list of the documents you need to bring along to your appointment.

You can download the Tier 4 application form and guidance from the above webpage or you can buy a Tier 4 student visa extension application pack from the Enquiry Centre for £1.

Please note: Once your new visa is issued you must bring it to the International Advice Service where it will be copied and the information will be stored with your student record. Failure to do so will result in a report being made to the UKBA.
