Intention to submit

An intention to submit form (.doc, 50 kB) is available for downloading online.

Temporary Binding

For the purposes of initial submission to the examiners, copies of the thesis may be submitted in temporary bindings. Following the acknowledgements, if any, there shall be (a) a signed declaration, that the candidate is the author of the thesis; that, unless otherwise stated, all references cited have been consulted by the candidate; that the work of which the thesis is a record has been done by the candidate, and that it has not been previously accepted for a higher degree: provided that if the thesis is based upon joint research, the nature and extent of the candidate's individual contribution shall be defined; (b) where appropriate, a signed statement by the supervisor that the conditions of the relevant Ordinance and Regulations have been fulfilled.

Number of copies required is as follows:

One copy only should be lodged with the Postgraduate Office for onward transmission to the External Examiner. You will be required to complete the Access to Thesis (.doc, 22 kB) form and Higher Degree Schedule (.doc, 29 kB) on submission of your thesis.

Hard binding

Following the examination and the completion of any required corrections, the thesis should be permanently bound and submitted with a higher degree schedule and any fees payable.

Number of copies required is as follows:

Either:

One hard bound copy lodged with the Postgraduate Office and one electronic submission to the University Library's on-line publications service: discovery.dundee.ac.uk

Or

Two copies should be lodged with the Postgraduate Office for onward transmission to the University Library which may, on request, issue one of those copies to the student's Department.

Although students may wish to obtain further copies for their own purposes (ie. for their supervisor and themselves), no more than two copies of the thesis are required for the purposes of the University.

If you make a submission to the University Library's on-line publications service you will receive an email confirmation that you need to submit along with your hard bound copy.
