Examinations

There are three University diets of Degree examinations, which are held during the periods outlined viz:

Timetables are normally available one month prior to each examination diet.

Preparation and Advice

All students registered on a module will automatically be entered for that module examination. Prior to each examination diet, the Registry will confirm with Schools that students are registered for the appropriate examinations. It is possible that your School may contact you to check your module registration.

Students may wish to review the examination regulations, which are available online in the full and official rules for the conduct of examinations at the University. Additionally, Advance@Dundee has provided some useful Examination Advice online:

PREP (Preparatory Resit Exam Programme)

PREP runs for the two weeks prior to the resits. PREP has a simple aim to help you pass your resit examinations.

Fees

Attendance at semester examination diets is included in the consolidated tuition fee that will have been paid at matriculation. However, this does not cover any subsequent re-examination and fees will be charged, as follows:

£50 for one subject, plus a further £25 for each additional subject taken

Academic Results

During any examination diet, or the subsequent period of time during which examinations are marked, students(*) are not permitted to view results in eVision; this is in keeping with standard University policy. *- this does NOT apply to students in the School of Nursing & Midwifery or the Graduate School of Natural Resources Law, Policy and Management.

At other times, outwith examination diets, students will normally be able to view provisional results in eVision. Agreed results will only ever be made available after ratification by an examination board (usually during the Summer months). Students who have any queries relating to results should contact their School in the first instance.

Examination results (including final award details where appropriate) will from this year onwards (June 2011) be sent via email to students' @dundee.ac.uk address instead of by letter. Final year undergraduate students will receive an academic transcript at graduation.

Where appropriate, degree and classification details will also be made available in eVision. Results will be available on either 7 or 8 June 2011.
