Graduation is a formal occasion. Males should wear dark trousers and white shirt. Formal dress includes a bow tie (black or white) but a normal tie can be worn and should be dark coloured.
Females should wear a dark skirt or trousers and white blouse.
All Graduating students are encouraged to wear their national costume.
Should you not be dressed suitably you may not be allowed to cross the stage to be capped by the Chancellor. In this case you will be Graduated in absentia.
You must wear the correct gown and hood for your degree otherwise you will not be presented before the Chancellor for conferment of your degree.
Academic robes should be hired from the official University Robemaker, Ede & Ravenscroft. Please make sure you select the correct gown and hood from the website. If you are not sure please contact the Exams and Graduation Office on the numbers below.
