Fees FAQ

1. Do I need to hand in my SAAS or Student Loan Company award letter?
   

   We do not require you to bring in your award letter from SAAS/SLC as we receive SAAS reports received weekly and SLC daily so sponsor records are updated weekly/daily. However, you should keep it safely in case we require to see this at a later date i.e. if you receive an invoice for your tuition fees you should they bring your award letter.
   The only SAAS students required to bring in award letters are Graduate Dental students.

2. I am a Home/RUK/EU student on a Year Out/Placement/Exchange, can I still apply for funding?
   

   Yes, you can still apply to SAAS or SLC

3. Do I need to apply for my Overseas Scholarship every year?
   

   Undergraduate Overseas Scholarships are awarded for each year of Full Time study apart from any repeat years. There is no need to apply each year.

4. How can I pay my fees?
   

   Any queries regarding payment should be directed to Cash Office, Finance 01382 389911 or 386686

5. Can 4th year English, Welsh and Northern Ireland student receive Tuition Fee Funding from SAAS?
   

   No, this agreement is no longer valid

6. Are fees charged for compulsory placement year?
   

   Yes, students on a compulsory placement year are required to pay tuition fees and should apply to their funding authority in the normal way.
