Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 - Publication Scheme

The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 obliges every public authority in Scotland to produce a publication scheme which explains what information it routinely puts into the public domain and how to access that information. The University of Dundee has adopted the Model Publication Scheme for Scottish Higher Education Institutions. This use of this model sectoral scheme by Scottish HEIs has been approved by the Office of the Scottish Information Commissioner until 30 May 2013. The model scheme is available from the Scottish Information Commissioner's website.

The model scheme specifies particular classes of information that should be available from a Scottish Higher Education Institution. The University of Dundee's publication scheme provides routes for individuals to access those classes of information. Often, there will be a link to a section of the University's web site where the information can be seen. Occasionally, the information will have to be requested from a specific member of University staff. Contact details are provided and should be used when requesting information in formats other than via the University web site or where information is not available online.

If you have any comments or suggestions for additions, corrections or amendments please contact the University's Records Manager. Please be aware that because the University has adopted the relevant model sectoral scheme it is difficult to add new classes of information, however changes within a class, for example to add extra information, can be made at the University's discretion.
