Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004
Access to environmental information held by public authorities is governed by a separate set of regulations from the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002. As far as possible when someone requests information from the University that request will be dealt with without the person needing to worry about the mechanisms under which it is being made. However, under certain circumstances the University may need to specify under which information regime a request is being handled. When this is the case the person making the request will be informed as soon as possible and made aware of any implications that this may have.
The Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations also impose a duty on the University to actively disseminate environmental information. The bulk of environmental information in the University is maintained by Campus Services and Safety Services. There may also be some historical information held in the University Archive.
