Changes to Taught Provision - Overview

Changes to taught provision are a natural result of the University's Quality Assurance Framework, which is designed to promote continuous enhancement of taught provision via monitoring reports, reviews, plans and strategies at all institutional levels.

Changes to programmes and modules may therefore arise as a result of:

Other developments, such as changes to QAA Subject Benchmarks and engagement with the QAA Scotland Quality Enhancement Themes.

The objective of the policies within this section is to facilitate the updating of programme and module information by providing pathways for making changes that take appropriate account of the need to assure quality and to safeguard the interests of students when withdrawing or suspending taught provision.

The document Changes to Programmes and Modules - Outline of Process covers the procedures to be adopted when modifying programme specifications, module specifications or degree regulations.

The document Programme and Module Withdrawal covers the procedures to be adopted when there are plans to cease or suspend teaching provision.

The document Vacation Power Procedures for Programmes and Modules covers the situation where substantive changes need to be made outwith the normal reporting process.

These documents constitute University of Dundee policy in the relevant areas. Any exceptions to these standing regulations should be agreed in advance with the Director of Quality Assurance, reporting to the Academic Secretary.
