Memorandum of Understanding - Template

Memorandum of understanding between The University of Dundee (Scottish Registered Charity Number SC 105096), Scotland and (Other party + country)

  1. The two universities agree to co-operate in discussions to identify areas where staff and students of both universities can work together to promote international excellence in higher education. Proposals for collaborative activities associated with academic awards will be defined in a separate, future agreement that will recognise the relevant policies of each university.
  2. Each university will share information with the other to help promote mutual understanding, and each will respect the confidentiality and intellectual ownership of this information.
  3. Each university will seek to promote co-operation to mutual benefit, and will be responsible for its own actions and its own costs associated with this memorandum of understanding.
  4. Each university will respect the name and high reputation of the other, and will consult with the other regarding any publicity or external reference to this memorandum of understanding.
  5. This memorandum of understanding will be valid for a period of three years from date of first signature. It may be extended or renewed by mutual agreement.
