Guidance Note for Learning and Teaching Development

This note is designed to assist colleges and schools in the production and development of learning and teaching strategies and plans and to inform the annual commentaries on these documents for consideration by the Vice-Principal's Review Group. It is also a resource for teams developing new programmes and modules.

The note consists of three tables:

1. selected relevant internal and external information sources selected for their relevance to the development of learning and teaching
2. sources regarding current themes in learning and teaching - this will be frequently updated to reflect topical issues, foci and initiatives at both institutional and sector levels.
3. a development 'toolkit' with prompting self-evaluation questions and associated resources, structured under the sections and aspects used in school learning and teaching development plans, but also relevant to strategic considerations.
