About ELIR and the ELIR Working Group

The QAA Scotland Enhancement-led institutional review (ELIR) operates on a five-year cycle and examines three main aspects of quality assurance and academic standards within Scottish HEIs:

A synopsis of the background to ELIR, based on material from the QAA website is available here.

In academic session 2009/10, the University underwent its second ELIR. To coordinate the University's reponse to this exercise, an ELIR Working Group was established. Its membership included representatives of all four colleges, Dundee University Students' Association (DUSA) and Student and Academic Support Services (SASS). The ELIR Working Group's chief role was to manage the preparation of the institution's Reflective Analysis (RA) and activities that support this.
