Research Interests
The role of vision is complex for even the most everyday task, by examining eye movements in real world situations, the patterns and to some extent, the underlying cognitive processes, can be investigated. The main aim of my research will be to examine eye movements in a real world setting by using a task which, although complex as a whole, incorporates elements which most people are experts at.
This broad research aim allows me to branch out into specific areas which interest me, such as, the effect of familiarity on eye movements during a task, the role of expertise, the subtle semantics of object properties used in a task and the role of learning/teaching method on eye movements.
