Research Interests

My research focuses on gaze and dialogue in natural collaboration. I’m interested in exploring the language and visual cues that are used to make and support references to external objects in collaborative settings. In the past I have investigated gaze cueing by measuring eye movements in a real-world paradigm. During my PhD I will continue to use highly naturalistic settings for observational and experimental studies. I will also, with the use of two mobile eye-trackers, monitor the eye-movements of both collaborators in all of my studies. These studies will explore the natural patterns of speech production and gaze communication in a collaborative setting and investigate factors that can affect these patterns.

Biography

I first came to Dundee University in 2004. In 2007, after experimenting with the world of Medicine and Retail (separately), I eventually found myself studying Psychology. In 2010, I attained my BSc (Hons) in Psychology and the following year I got my MSc in Eye Movements and Cognition. From there I went straight on to my PhD.
