The Institute for Cardiovascular Research is raking in the cash this week with two fundraising events donating all their proceeds to Dundee's institute to tackle heart disease.

The Club Romano - the Italian community club held a fundraising dinner raising a total of £1000. Father Aldo, the Ninewells chaplain and member of the Italian community will present TICR chairman Robert McLaren with the cheque on Thursday 28 November in Ninewells hospital.

And to celebrate St Andrews day this weekend, staff in the health shop in Ninewells thought that to cheer spirits they would challenge everyone in the hospital to wear tartan on Friday 29 November. All proceeds will be donated to TICR.
