
With the 3 May and World Asthma Day fast approaching the University's internationally renowned asthma and allergy research group are packing their days full of activities to promote awareness of asthma across Scotland - from Dundee Football Club visits, Scottish rugby players coaching Dundee school children, a week on the Wave 102 action desk and awareness stands dotted across the city of Dundee.
"Let every person breathe" This year's World Asthma day with the slogan "Let every person breathe" follows the success of the first in 1998 which celebrated with activities across 37 countries. This year will be marked with a virtual internet convention taking place on the worldwide web and linking more that 150 countries across the globe.
Worldwide over 150 million people are diagnosed with asthma, 3.5 million of those from the UK. Globally over 180,000 people die from asthma each year.
