Centre for Environmental Change and Human Resilience University of Dundee & Scottish Crop Research Institute

The Centre for Environmental Change and Human Resilience (CECHR) is an emerging initiative between the University of Dundee and the Scottish Crop Research Institute established to provide focus for novel interdisciplinary research addressing environmental change, societal response and the promotion of sustainability. Increasing engagement between science, social science and policy communities is central to building local research capacity.

In addition to the three doctoral projects which commenced in 2009, the University of Dundee and SCRI is funding a further four PhD Studentships in 2010 drawn from the following strategic areas:

• Food, energy and water security
• Health and environmental change
• Agro-ecosystems and the economics of environmental change
• Environmental change and social justice
• Promoting social and economic resilience
• Environmental governance
• Engineering resilience
• Climate change and carbon landscapes
