Teaching & Assessment
"Excellent module for those who wish to interpret radiographic images in clinical practice."
This module is delivered entirely online through MyDundee (the University virtual learning environment). All materials are provided through this medium. E-learning offers students easy access to web resources and documents needed for their studies, as well as facilitating discussions and the exchange of ideas with fellow students and tutors. Anyone with access to the internet and basic IT skills will be able to use MyDundee.
There are TWO components to be assessed within this module:
- The first component is continuous clinical assessment (CCA) for the interpretation of images under the guidance of an appointed mentor. A portfolio will be completed by the student and be designed to ensure that the specific areas of reporting required for their chosen topic will be covered. The portfolio will also include written case study reports and an evaluation form which will be completed by the mentor at the end of each reporting session. (Week 1, Semester 1 to Week 11, Semester 2)
- The second component is an Objective Structured Radiological Examination (OSRE). (Week 12 –Semester 2). This 2 hour examination will cover a wide range of subject topics which include anatomy, pathology and image interpretation. During the examination an oral examination will be conducted by a Consultant Radiologist and experienced Radiographer reporter.
