Aims of the Programme

The programme aims to provide a thorough understanding of all aspects of human anatomy. It is targeted mainly at those from overseas, especially the Indian subcontinent, who for professional reasons are required to undertake a higher degree in Anatomy prior to taking up an Anatomy teaching appointment. It is also open to individuals from the UK, EU and other countries.

Programme Content

The programme will cover all aspects of human anatomy, including gross anatomy through whole body dissection, human embryology, neuroanatomy, histology and cell biology. There will also be an introduction to anatomical variation and clinical/surgical anatomy. Each student also completes a dissertation or small project.

This programme is also available part-time over 24 months (to Home/EU students only.)

Methods of Assessment

Written and practical examinations; essays; seminars; presentations; dissertation/thesis.

Entry Requirements

First degree in a Life Sciences, Medicine or Dentistry, or related subject. Minimum equivalent to upper second class honours.

English Language Requirement: IELTS of 6.5 (or equivalent), if your first language is not English. Please check our Language Requirements page for details of equivalent grades from other test providers, and information about the University of Dundee English Language courses.
