MSc
Our MSc Finance focuses on the role of modern business organisations, financial institutions and markets in the global economy. The programme also introduces students to state-of-the-art techniques and thinking regarding research methodology and the modern statistical techniques employed to investigate firm values and asset prices on inter-temporal and cross-sectional bases.
Status: If you need a visa to study in the UK, this course is closed to applicants for Sept 2012 entry. Apply by 15th July for Sept 2013.
Why study MSc Finance at Dundee?
This degree programme is designed to provide you with an understanding of the operation of modern business organisations, the role of financial institutions and the capital markets in the global economy. You will be encouraged to think critically about the ways in which modern businesses organisations interact with the financial markets and you will develop an understanding of the knowledge creation process.
In addition aim to provide our overseas students with the educational and cultural experiences which are unique to the UK.

This programme is designed particularly to help students with first degrees involving only limited specialisation in finance, but have a keen interest in it, develop their knowledge and skills.

This course is taught by Accounting & Finance staff in the School of Business.
The start date is September each year, and lasts for 12 months.
Careers
The programme is intended for students wishing to embark on a career in the financial sector. It is particularly suited for students wishing to pursue a career in banking, fund management, investment analysis, treasury management and academic finance (via doctoral study).
The School of Business has excellent employment records for its students (and an impressive Alumni), and this new Masters-level programme is intended to continue this pattern of success and enable students to embark on fulfilling and rewarding careers. In this regard, the structure of the degree, with an emphasis on developing both technical and generic (soft) skills, in the context of a fast-changing business environment, will stand students in good stead.

Entry Requirements
A good undergraduate degree in business.
English Language Requirement: IELTS of 6.5 (or equivalent), if your first language is not English. Please check our Language Requirements page for details of equivalent grades from other test providers, and information about the University of Dundee English Language courses.

Living Costs

- Increasing numbers of students are successfully undertaking part-time work to supplement their income. You can get advice from our Careers Service, both about job opportunities and how to find a suitable study/work/life balance. EU and international students are also allowed to work up to 20 hours per week.
