Centre for the Study of European Political Parties

The Centre for the Study of European Political Parties organises research and teaching activities on:

• The Europeanisation of political parties and Euroscepticism
• Euro-parties and transnational parties
• the regulation of political parties, especially proscription of political parties
• democratisation and party politics
• extremist and anti-system parties
• evolution of parties of the left
• political parties and the politics of coalition formation
• parties in federal and multilevel systems.

It is based in Politics and International Relations, School of Humanities, University of Dundee.

To inaugurate the new Centre we are offering a funded PhD studentship on a topic related to political parties in Europe. Full details on the studentship and how to apply are available on the University of Dundee Postgraduate website.

The Centre will also host a symposium on the Future of Devolution and Political Parties: Scotland and Spain at the University of Dundee on 19 September 2011.
