Welcome to Politics

Offering a varied and flexible set of undergraduate degrees covering the central areas of the subjects of Politics and International Relations, we are a small and very friendly team with a reputation for taking good care of our students at all levels, as underlined by the 2011 National Student Survey, which ranked Politics at Dundee No.1 in the UK for student satisfaction in our subject area.

Our postgraduate degrees offer both taught and research options:

Our staff comprises full-time lecturing staff, as well as teaching fellows and a number of research assistants. We offer a diverse range of optional modules on our undergraduate degrees, including topics of urgent contemporary interest, such as terrorism, security and the environment, reflecting the diverse interests and specialist knowledge of our staff.

Staff are all very active in research, reflected in the most recent 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE). We also produce two academic journals, ensuring that we are at the forefront of international research.

If you have an interest in the contemporary world from the point of view of politics and international relations, then we believe that at Dundee we have created degree programmes which will deepen and intensify that interest and produce knowledgeable and enthusiastic graduates whose time at the university has been personally profitable and enjoyable.
