Dr Dumiso Moyo is the programme leader for the post-graduate MSc in Local and Regional Economic Development and the Centre Manager for the post-graduate Joint Distance learning MA in Town and Country Planning. He previously worked as a professional planner in local authorities and in private consultancy before joining the property development industry. In addition Dumiso has experience working with non governmental organisations involved in providing technical support to communities involved with affordable housing supply. His experience is in various facets of town planning including "traditional" local authority planning, housing, retail, infrastructure and property development and local and regional economic development in the UK, Ireland and the sub-Saharan Africa region. Dumiso is the former honorary secretary and president of the Zimbabwe institute of urban and regional planners and former vice president of the Commonwealth Association of Planners.
