Town and Regional Planning is involved in the Distance Learning MA/Postgraduate Diploma in Town and Country Planning as part of an academic consortium of Planning departments in the UK. This degree provides an approved route to membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute. It gives an opportunity for people who are not in a position to embark upon conventional full-time or part-time university courses to qualify as professional land use planners.

Town and Regional Planning is also involved in the postgraduate Certificate/Diploma/MSc in Local and Regional Economic Development as part of a consortium with the Universities of Coventry, Dundee and Sheffield Hallam. This qualification is designed to meet the needs of working practitioners. It is obtained through a series of modules taken at a pace to suit the student. All modules are provided through "distance learning". It offers a national qualification in Economic Development accredited by the Institute of Economic Development.
